Setting Goals

I’ve been decidedly unproductive since coming back from Costume College. You could say after all I made in the past year I’m allowed to take a break, but the truth is without any upcoming deadlines my inspiration is all over the place.  So I thought I would list out some things that I hope to accomplish in the next few months and that will hopefully keep me motivated.

Fabric and flower samples for the Robe de Cour.
The pink is the main body of the dress, the green is for the swags, and the stripe is one possibility for the ruffles.

First up, the pink Robe de Cour. This is my biggest upcoming project but it’s not due for almost a full year. That being said, I don’t want to leave such a massive project until right before next Costume College so I hope to finish the underwear by the end of 2013.

To start I need:

A new pair of linen stays –
I plan to use the 1780s Corsets and Crinolines pattern again.
A massive panier –
I’m thinking I may use the Simplicity pattern that came out several years ago. It looks very similar to the pattern in Corsets and Crinolines, though I may need to adjust the scale.
A ruffled under petticoat –
This will probably be made from cheap cotton muslin since the pink silk taffeta for this outfit put a huge hole in my budget. But it’s the perfect shade so no regrets!

I also have a handful of half-finished small projects that I want to finish before the end of the year, and several embroidery projects I want to work on. Fall always puts me in the mood for embroidery but more on that later.
